  • Bay leaf to taste.
  • Tomato paste – 1 tsp.
  • Basil to taste.


Pass the beef through a meat grinder, mix the minced meat with all the other ingredients until smooth. Roll small balls from the resulting mass, put on a baking sheet, greased with olive oil. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes. For the sauce: finely chop the onion and fry it over medium heat, add garlic, thyme, bay leaf and tomato paste. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalks, peel them from the skin, pre-cut and scald with boiling water. Grind in a blender until smooth. Add chopped tomatoes to the onion. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Beat the sauce in a blender, after removing the bay leaf from it. Serve meatballs with sauce.
